Each student will be required to participate in an educational program as part of his/her individual treatment plan. The China Spring Youth Camp Educational Program is operated by the Douglas County School District. Credits earned will be transferable to the school he/she attends after leaving the Camp. Educational goals will be developed by the China Spring Youth Camp and the educational staff of the Stoddard and Jewel Jacobsen High School.
Each resident will be taking a placement test upon his arrival into the Camp. This test along with a review of your child’s past school history, the completion of a personal interview with the resident, your input, and your child’s input will be used to formulate the most appropriate educational plan. School begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 11:40 a.m. for the lunch break. Classes resume at 1:30 p.m. and end at 2:30 p.m. Should the resident qualify for the GED program, he/she will be enrolled into this course of study.
